A trained tech inspects your home as a system. We use a blower door machine to measure how airtight your house is, and a thermal camera to see air leakage and insulation deficiencies in real time. The blower door provides a firm number that we can lower once we air seal or spray foam in your attic. The biggest source of heat gain in Florida is the attic due to the reverse stack effect.
Is the test safe for my home, finishes, and pets?
Yes. We just ask that they remain outside or otherwise controlled during the test, as we will need to open all interior doors in the home. We need to create one continuous, connected volume of air to test in order to produce accurate results.
How long does it take, and how should I prepare?
Most visits take 45–90 minutes. Please: close exterior doors/windows, clear space near the front door and attic access, turn off exhaust fans (bath/kitchen) and HVAC during the test portion, and secure pets. If you have a recent power bill, keep it handy—we can reference it when reviewing results.
